Deep Rest

When was the last time you truly felt rested?
Take a moment to close your eyes, take a breath, drop in to your body, and ask yourself.
It’s ok to have lots of space and fill it with nothing.
I’ve recently been spending large chunks of time laying on my bed or on the floor and staring at the ceiling and focusing on my breath in silence.
At one point in time that would’ve seemed like a complete waste of time but right now I feel a deep craving to be inward - to come back home to myself.
It feels like a season to bathe in all things that nurture me.
I’ve been disconnected from my body for so long that as I begin to slowly reconnect I’m recognising just how much rest I am craving.
Sitting in complete silence and feeling at ease in my body feels like such a luxury that is foreign to me which indicates just how out of balance my nervous system has been. It has previously been subject to high amounts of stress and pressure and its time to recalibrate.
