Most people live from their mind.
Some live from their heart.
Only a few live from their soul.
I had the privilege of doing a talk about mental health at a major bank in the UK earlier this week.
When I was initially asked to share, I thought to myself;
Is my story important enough?
Will people connect with it?
Does it even matter?
The truth is for a long time I didn’t think it had any value because I compared my story to others thinking it wasn’t tragic enough or cool enough, therefore I didn’t deserve to share it.
I didn’t think I had any value to offer the world.
I know now that deep down we all have a unique story worth sharing and we’ll only recognise that if we have the courage to fully embrace it.
That means owning every part of ourselves, not just the pretty parts we want to show the world.
Only by sharing from a very vulnerable and honest place did I remotely have a chance to connect with someone at an emotional level.
To me, sharing my story isn’t about me, it’s about helping others feel seen and heard. Giving them permission to feel, maybe for the first time. Making you feel safe to unravel yourself and connect to your truth.
Because I never felt that growing up.
I felt I was always running to catch up to the rest of the world – in a race to be someone successful.
And in the process, I was running away from myself.
Honestly, I got exhausted from running and running.
At the end of the talk, one of the guys who I have known for a long time said, “Gosh you put on such a good front I never would’ve known you were experiencing all that.”
And that’s the problem.
We’re phenomenal at masking.
Only a few years ago when I started working with my coach did I begin to realise there was a difference between my gift and my talent.
He was one of the first people to say to me “I think you have a gift.”
I didn’t believe it at the time, but I believed he believed it.
So I continued to lean into life and trust that I was being guided.
Gift vs Talent
We might be talented at many things:
Sales
Marketing
Organising events
Business consulting
Playing an instrument
Stakeholder management
But is that necessarily your gift?
No.
I believe your gift is something you offer the world that is deeply fulfilling and of service to others at the same time.
One of the reasons I incarnated during this time is to hold sacred space for people to be seen to their core at a time when there is so much loneliness and disconnection.
I realised that what brings me deep fulfilment is helping you heal through conversation.
What makes me a beautiful coach?
The safe space I create.
What makes me a brilliant coach?
I compassionately challenge you.
What makes me a phenomenal coach?
I listen deeply.
What makes me a rare coach?
My ego is suspended.
If you’re feeling exhausted and lost in some way then book in a session and lets see what magic unfolds for you.
Change takes place one person at time. Each person has a domino effect on the world in their own way.
As my spiritual mentor once said, “A thousand points of light is how you change the world”.
I look forward to changing the world with you.
One love ❤️
