This is a free edition of the Soul Wisdom newsletter.
Today I have 3 thoughts to share that have been coming up for me…
Spirituality
Spirituality doesn’t look a certain way. It isn’t a person who is peaceful all the time, dresses and speaks a certain way, or lives in a cave.
Spirituality is embracing all of the differences in the world because you see that underneath them all is only one reality expressing itself in different ways.
Seeing the world in a rigid way is the egos companion. Being fluid is the souls nature.
If you catch yourself being judgmental/condescending towards someone because you feel better than them because you meditate, pray, use sage, attend retreats and go to therapy etc, then you’re caught in the trap of duality - a made up story of “right” and “wrong”. Them vs Us mentality. I’ve been there, it can easily happen. Without realising, you slowly start living solely from your ego instead of your soul.
Whenever you come up against a person or a situation that is different than what you’re used to (different to what you value and believe), observe how you feel. Instead of allowing judgement to lead you, I invite you to see beyond the surface and feel the heart of the person. There is a soul inside that body expressing itself based on its conditioning in life. See it as an opportunity to open your heart further. Approach the situation with curiosity and compassion. It is teaching you that you still have another layer to let go of.
Inner work
As scary as it is, do the inner work. Your life is worth you doing it.
What would your life be like without it?
You’ll leave an un-lived timeline on the table.
That timeline includes the healed version of you that experiences the breath and depth of life. The version of you that fully lives, loves, and laughs. The version of you that is drenched in passion, feels pleasure and play in the depth of your connection to yourself and others. That lives a truly aligned life.
I mean, what’s the alternative?
Take the time to discover who you really are beneath all those wounds and stories.
You can’t afford not to.
Peace
I’ve realised that peace is an internal experience to be cultivated by myself.
Peace comes from my conscious response to life’s events, not my conditioned reaction based on my past.
We so often want to manipulate the outside world to be the way we want in order to feel at ease. The truth is we cannot control other people or situations. The world will always change - change is constant.
It is our ability to embrace it with ease, love and grace that invites more tranquility and stability into our lives.
Here are a few ways you can embrace change with more ease:
Be curious about the unexpected gifts life could present in this new chapter
Remind yourself of all of the things that you haven’t received which you later realised were blessings in hindsight
Be grateful for the wisdom and insight this new experience may bring as you lean into it
I pour my soul into each of these pieces of writing every month with prayers of healing and love to anyone it reaches. I invite you to support me by becoming a paid subscriber.
One love,
V

I am change averse. More specifically, averse to unplanned change. But I love your point about being curious. I am going to approach my current unplanned change with curiosity to hopefully ease my approach to it potentially causing change.
A lovely soulful read. I loved this line, "It is teaching you that you still have another layer to let go of." Sometimes I wonder if it's layers all the way down without end, an endless unfurling. Though as I write that intuition says no in regards to ego's play, but maybe yes to soul's play.
