In The Mirror
“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.” — Brené Brown
Sometimes, the smallest gestures, when done consistently, bring about the most profound changes.
This week, I started a simple ritual that’s already making a difference. Every morning, after my shower, I lean over the sink, close to the cabinet mirror, look myself in the eyes, smile, and say,
“I love you, and I’m proud of you, Vipul.”
Using my own name is important—it brings it home, makes it real.
It is uncomfortable at first. But instead of pulling away, I let myself linger in that discomfort. I just stay there, witnessing whatever thoughts and feelings arise. No judging, no fixing—just observing, like watching an interesting story unfold.
This ritual takes only a few minutes, in the quiet of my bathroom. Yet in those few moments, I’m giving myself something I’ve often looked for outside: love, acceptance, and pride.
Try it.
Give yourself the gift of your own presence.
There’s something powerful waiting to be discovered.
Love,
V
