Last week, I ordered flowers from Beards & Daisies, a UK-based houseplant delivery company, to surprise Hannah. But the delivery company messed up the slot, and she missed the delivery.
When I found out, I’ll admit—I was raging.
It wasn’t just a small inconvenience. I’d planned this moment carefully—a simple gesture to make her smile. And it wasn’t like I could just have the flowers redelivered the next day; she was about to leave for a two-week trip.
The idea to send her flowers had come to me the day before during my morning journaling session. It felt like a nudge from my heart, so I acted on it, imagining the joy in her voice when she received them.
I love giving gifts. It makes my heart happy to feel someone’s joy when they receive something they love.
Since she wasn’t going to be home, Hannah asked me to redirect the flowers to her friend Jayde’s place.
The next day, some of the white roses arrived damaged, though the rest of the bouquet was salvageable. Jayde told Hannah the flowers were beautiful, and after a difficult week at work, it felt nice for her to take a moment to appreciate and enjoy them.
I’ve ordered from Beards & Daisies before, and they’ve always been reliable. This felt like a one-off mishap, which made it even more frustrating. Still, I decided to reach out to customer service for a refund—and that’s when Rosie entered the picture.
Rosie responded to my email promptly. Her professionalism, warmth, and kindness completely disarmed me. It was such a positive and effortless interaction that I knew I’d be a returning customer despite this hiccup.
I was so impressed that I asked for her manager’s email to provide positive feedback. Her Director later reached out to thank me, saying he’d share my comments with the Founder because they take pride in exceptional customer service.
I don’t know what, if anything, will come of this for Rosie, but I know it’ll only be good things. Recognizing effort and excellence matters. We’re often quick to complain when things go wrong, but how often do we take the time to acknowledge when something—or someone—is truly great?
Rosie later reached out to me directly and said my feedback had really lifted her mood.
Who can you acknowledge today to bring a smile to their face?
Whose beautiful qualities can you point out?
Maybe Jayde needed those flowers more than Hannah.
Maybe Rosie needed to feel appreciated.
Who knows?
It’s all part of a divine order.
At first, I was upset because I wanted to feel Hannah’s joy when she received the flowers. But maybe that moment wasn’t meant for her. Maybe my impulse to buy the bouquet came from a deeper, unseen purpose—to touch other lives in unexpected ways.
As we move through life, it’s easy to forget that we’re all interconnected, playing our roles in a bigger picture.
I’ve been practicing two affirmations this year:
“Everything is always working out for me.”
“Everything is working to my advantage.”
This situation was a brilliant opportunity to put them into practice. Yes, I was mad for about 30 minutes, but I cooled off and could think clearly again. Our thoughts and actions are often clouded when we’re submerged in anger, but once we find balance again, we see things more clearly.
I gauge how well the affirmations are working to shift my perspective by how long it takes me to remember them once I’m frustrated by a situation. I don’t think the goal is to never be frustrated, but rather, to see how quickly you can come back to the realisation that, every situation, even the most frustrating, is working in your favour.
It’s a humbling reminder: we’re all part of a grand cosmic tapestry, being woven together by an unseen hand.
When things don’t go to plan, they’re still going to plan.
Love,
V

What a lovely post Vipul. Thank you for sharing how what you thought of as a mistake had become a rather empowering event. Thank you for also sharing that we can also be very kind in the mist of our emotions and in doing so we can create empowering ripples for everyone concerned.
Yes, we are ALL connected 😉.
You were MOVED and appreciation followed.
Thank you for sharing this experience!

All the things in the cosmos are together in one place.
Each thing is moved by nature’s pattern.
Signals give direction.
The whole divides in to parts. 🧬
The parts move around and in and out of each other.
Like water flowing in rivers 💦 and oceans 🌊 and changing into vapor 💨 and snow ⛄️❄️and ice 🧊.
The water flows in and out of creatures 🐿️ and plants 🌱.
Every part is circulating. 💫☄️🪐⛈️🦠🧬🌪️
Everything in the UNIverse fits 🧩 because each part belongs to the ONE whole cosmic song 🎶 and dance 💃🏻.
