A feel good song I listened to recently:
Ripening
When I was 15, 30 seemed ancient.
A distant age where I’d have it all figured out.
By 20, I was sure—life should be neatly packed by 30,
Everything in place, or I’d be a failure.
But life is not a path of rigid milestones.
It unfolds in divine timing,
Each moment a lesson, each step guided by a hand unseen.
It blooms slowly, like petals nurtured by the sun.
Now, I would never return to youth.
Though it held a certain lightness,
The richness of time reveals deeper truths.
Lightness lives in the present moment.
The more I learn about myself, the more I become.
Curiosity blossoms where certainty once reigned,
Each question opening a new possibility.
Life ripens, it doesn’t rush.
Like a lotus, unfolding petal by petal.
A mango, sun-kissed, heavy with sweetness,
Falls only when it’s ready—
And so do we.
We’re buds slowly opening,
Our spirits taking flight like butterflies.
When we are ripe enough,
We are released,
Falling from the tree of our bodies,
Returning to the earth, to spirit, to source,
Full and complete,
Ripe and ready.
Love,
V

Life ripens and blooms exactly when it should. I really like getting older and I really like this poem
“Life ripens, it doesn’t rush”. This is a gorgeous reminder.
