I was recently in San Diego, California for the first time.

The sunsets I witnessed there were unreal—like nothing I’ve seen before.

I spent many evenings watching the sun set silently in awe of nature.

During the day my time was largely spent doing the following;

  • hosting a couple of private coaching retreats

  • visiting some cool crystal stores

  • enjoying the SRF Meditation Gardens

  • watching lots of movies (I watched John Wick 1, 2, 3, Fast X, Knives Out and a few others)

  • going on hikes

  • spending time laying down in silence

It was generally a period of slowing down and going inward.

There’s one particular story I want to share about a trip to a crystal store.

During my trip to Dirt Cheap Crystals I was browsing around and stumbled onto a beautiful wooden statue of a laughing buddha that immediately drew me in,

Its energy was magnetic (I was so engrossed I forgot to take a picture of it to share with you all).

I lifted the bottom to check its price.

There was a small label with the words ‘NOT FOR SALE’ written on it.

The shop assistant, Kristin, said ir was the first time she’d seen anything marked like that in the store. She called her boss to find out what the situation was and he confirmed said they weren’t selling that one (no specific reason given), but there were more brass ones coming soon.

I trusted I wasn’t meant to have it and so enjoyed its presence for the timebeing.

When I returned home I kept thinking about that buddha and I decided to journal on it. Felt like there was some wisdom to be uncovered here.

And sure enough, there was.
