The Love That Lifts Us
I thought I had to know it all,
That I had to solve life’s puzzle,
Before I could stand before love,
And say, “I’m ready now.”
But love is not a settling down—
It is a rising up, a gentle bloom,
A wind that carries us higher,
To an unknown, yet familiar place.
With her, love is effortless.
It is the soft rhythm of a heartbeat,
The dance of whispered words,
It feels expansive, enchanted, easy.
Her touch is like the warmth of summer,
Her voice creates a melody that opens my soul.
I feel the pulse of ancient lovers,
Their stories form the roots of our love.
Love is a snowball rolling down the hill,
Gathering with time, growing quietly.
With each moment, I am elevated,
With each breath, I am soothed.
This love is wide and wild,
Like a brilliant sky, endless and true.
It is a fun, untamed wind in our bodies,
A sanctuary where I finally feel safe and sure.
In her eyes, I know—she is the one.
This love is a springboard into something greater,
A foundation unshakable, a divine masterpiece,
Built of what pure souls are made of.
Together, we leap toward God’s house,
Freed from the chains of conditioning.
I am transformed, reborn,
By the grace of this love.
In her, a part of my soul is waiting to be discovered.
