It’s definitely super hard to sit with the demons but I think it’s worthwhile. Suppressing sadness also suppresses joy.
I too wonder how many people are actually happy. I often feel
Looked down upon because I’m acknowledging my issues, and people seem to think that means there’s more wrong with me than them. But I think being able to look at these things in the face is a sign of strength.
Completely agree with you Elizabeth ❤ Anyone who looks down on you hasn't looked at themselves and the demons in their own life. In other words, they have not done "the work" whether by choice or simply lack of understanding of what it entails. Now that I am working to become more aware and conscious in daily living, one sees how many people still walk around totally unaware and oblivious. Honestly, I feel a bit sorry for them.
so right friend. it's a this AND that situation with our big feelies and no longer has a this OR that framework. It's all of it. There is peace in the awareness, recognition, understanding and zoom out of any human emotion (with the big cries and frustration!)
Agreed sister! It is “this” AND “this”. It’s something I was reminded of during ceremony recently. I think it becomes an issue when deep down we don’t want the truth to be the truth so we go on pretending so well we actually believe it. Some people have lied to themselves for so long they believe it’s the truth…
2 sides of the coin make the whole dang thing. past duality. past oversimplification. and Yes. The cognitive dissonance and investment of an old belief (and the identity it’s tied to) is real. But it’s breaking down, breaking open! and that’s where the light flows in. People protect the belief because they think it’s THEM THEM. But nahhh. it’s just an old layer to shed.
“But nahhhh” haha love it. Who are you? Who am I? I’m infinite consciousness. I’m also a collection of layers I’ve accumulated—“my personality”. Both. Nothing and everything. Duality is life!
Great post Vipul! very insightful and thought provoking.
